Innovative self-loading rifle: Haenel CR 223 M-LOK
The Haenel CR 223 M-LOK offers an advanced solution for shooting enthusiasts. Its indirect gas system minimizes powder gas buildup, optimizing functionality. The safety can be operated in the de-cocked position, and the trigger is available as either a dry-fire trigger or a fine-tuned trigger.
Practical Features
The handguard on the barrel is removable without tools, and a mechanical folding sight ensures precise aiming. The overall length of the rifle varies between 85 cm and 93.5 cm, while the weight ranges from 3.6 kg to 3.35 kg.
Tradition meets modernity
The Haenel CR 223 “Competition Rifle” is a further development of semi-automatic rifles based on a long tradition. The first assault rifle was originally developed at CG Haenel in Suhl. The CR 223 is a modern, piston-operated, self-loading rifle in .223 Rem. caliber, based on the AR-15 system.
Technical details and customization options
As a gas-operated rifle with a rotating bolt, it features a telescopic buttstock adjustable to six different lengths. The free-floating, cold-hammer-forged barrel is available in four lengths: 423 mm, 368 mm, 318 mm, and 254 mm.
Trigger and operability
The direct trigger releases at approximately 3,200 g, while the optional fine trigger releases at approximately 1,500 g. The safety is ambidextrous, which simplifies handling.

CG Haenel has a long tradition as a manufacturer of semi- and fully automatic sporting and law enforcement firearms: The StG44, the world’s first assault rifle, was co-developed and manufactured at Haenel in Suhl in the 20th century. All the expertise gained in this category of firearm was incorporated into the development of the new civilian CR and military MK models, which meet AR-15/M4 standards. In-house production with a cold forging facility completes the expertise of the Suhl specialists. Here, sporting and law enforcement firearms are manufactured that set international standards – made in Suhl, Germany.
